WINTER HITTING LEAGUE

LEGION WINTER workouts:
Who: 2006 A, AA and AAA American Legion Ball Players
What: A 12-session weekly workout for hitters and pitchers designed to help prepare you for the 2006 baseball season. Program will be instructed by Division I college coaches from Gonzaga University as well as current and former professional players.
Program features will include:
  • batting cage and bullpen work,
  • video analysis and topical discussions on recruiting,
  • strength training/conditioning and the
  • mental game of baseball (see also: “the 6-inch war”)
When:   Each player will be assigned to one of four nights (M-T-W-TH) and to one of three sessions (5:30-7:00 pm, 6:30-8:00 pm, or 7:30-9:00 pm) based on age level and school location. The program will begin Monday, Dec. 5th, 2005 and run through Thursday, March. 2nd, 2006.
(***note*** there will be workouts during the first week of Winter vacation from 12/19 – 12/22)
Cost: $125 (Scholarships Available – please call 484-2461)

WINTER HITTING LEAGUE
Who: 2005-2006 High School Baseball Players (9th-12th Grades)
What: The WHL is a competitive, non-instructional program  in which hitters sign up and compete against other players in the batting cages. Points are awarded for certain targeted areas in the cage, with individual scores being recorded. Champions will be named and prizes awarded at the completion of the league in each age group. Hitting leagues will be held once a week for six weeks. Our hitting leagues are a great way for players to remain competitive in the off-season. Academy staff members will monitor leagues closely to ensure development.
When: WHL games will be played on six Saturdays beginning January 7th, 2006 and finishing on February 11th, 2006.  9th and 10th graders will compete from 3:00 pm – 5:00pm and 11th and 12th graders will compete from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
Cost: $75 for Legion Winter Workout Participants,
$100 for non-participants of Winter Workout
