AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL
2008
JUNIOR ‘A’ SIXTEEN & UNDER PLAYOFF FORMAT

In 2008 there will be two leagues in the Junior "A" Sixteen & Under American Legion Baseball. There will be a North League and a South League.

  • The top 4 teams in each league will play in post season action
  • Each team will be seeded according to their individual records at the end of the season in their leagues
  • The teams will be seeded as shown below. If teams have not played equal number of games, seeds will be determined by win/loss percentages
  • If there are teams tied for any place finishes, after the season is completed, the team with the best league series record against the other tied teams will be declared the winner of that place
  • If there still is a tie for 1st place, all tied teams will be declared co champions
  • All ties will be decided by a coin flip for seeding to district championship

# 1 Seed - Regular season League Champion.
# 2 Seed - Regular season League # 2 team.
# 3 Seed - Regular season League # 3 team.
# 4 Seed - Regular season League # 4 team

In each league:

  •  the # 1 seeds will play the # 4 seeds
  • the # 2 seeds will play the # 3 seeds

  • in the best two out of three series.
  • The winners of each series will play in the league championship series which will also be the best two out of three games.
  • The winning teams in each league championship series will advance to the Washington "A" State Championship starting August 2, 2008 at Titan Stadium, University High School in Spokane Valley, Washington. The Team banquet is August 1st

**Division V Championship game. Winner of Game 10 will be the Division V #1 seed at the state tournament. Loser of Game 10 will be Division V # 2 representative into the state tournament.
***University A #1 is a host team for the tournament and has an automatic berth. If University A#1 is in Game #10, there will be a game between the two highest remaining seed for Division 5 #3 seed at the State Tournament.

  • The home team for each game will be the first team listed except for game 10 when a coin toss will determine home team.
  • All games will be 7 innings with no time limit.
  • If home sites are not available, a field will be assigned by American Legion Baseball.
